Admission Requirements
Foreign nationals or Korean nationals residing abroad with a high school diploma or the equivalent academic status who wish to learn the Korean language and culture.
2012 KLP Schedule

The program meets 4 times a year (spring through winter semester)
-
A 10-week course per semester (200 hours = 4 hrs/day×5 days/week×10 weeks)
-
6 levels of classes in total (Beginning 1-2, Intermediate 1-2, Advanced 1-2)
-
The KLP classes will be conducted 4 hours(9:00-12:50) a day, and 5 days a week from Monday to Friday.
(Classes cancelled in honor of local public holidays will not be made up and are not subject to any refund.)
[Type A] Applicants with any visa
They can join the program for one or more semesters.
[Type B] Applicants without a visa
Those who want to join the class must take at least 2 consecutive semesters.

An original bank statement showing your account balance (It should verify no less than $ 3,000 in US dollars or the equivalent amount of value dated within 3 months of the start date of the KLP.)

In the event that 6 months have passed since you graduated from high school, a certificate is needed which proves your activities during your time away from school.(eg. a certificate of employment, a certificate of enrollment, etc.)

3cm*4cm sized 5 color photographs (within the last 3 months, a black and white picture will not be accepted.)
※ The KLP requires that all the documents should be original and notarized, or certified copies of documents. In the case of certified copies, they must be approved by the authorities concerned.
※ The KLP can demand extra supporting documents from the applicant in the case that the documents submitted cannot be verified.
Applicants who already have a D-2 or D-4-4 VISA and want to transfer to Pukyong National University.

Attendance verification certificate which can prove no less than 80% of your class attendance and no less than 70% of your test score in the previous semester
※ Only the students with no less than an 80% class attendance rate and 70% of test score can be qualified for the course.

The applicants who are approved must pay the tuition fees within the stated payment period on page 1.

The applicants who are approved except for Chinese nationals must apply for a language study VISA in their country, but LEC will refund all tuition fees if they fail to get the proper VISA from their respective embassy

The applicants must pay the cost of living, textbooks, on-campus housing, and medical insurance.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Notice of cancellation must be made in person at the LEC Office.
100% refund: before the program begins.
70% refund of tuition fee: within 7 business days after the program starts (No refund will be given afterward.)
Scholarship System
Outstanding achievement Scholarship for the Korean language program
- For anyone in the top 10 percent of total test scores for the semester that students are attending, they will be given a scholarship like below on the condition that the attendance is 85% or over. The scholarship holders are selected from all Korean Language program students, not based on the class unit.

Financial support for foreigners who enroll as undergraduate students at Pukyong National University
When a student satisfies all of the conditions together, they will get back 50 percent of the tuition fee corresponding to 1 year
Conditions :
- Who has finished the Korean language program for 2 semesters (6 months) or more at the Language Education Center, Pukyong National University.
- The attendance must be 85 percent or over
- Certificate of TOPIK Level 3 or a higher grade is acquired.
