PKNU accredited as an 'excellent donation institution for education'

- 3 years from 2023 … outcomes of operating excellent educational donation programs

Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) announced that it had renewed its accreditation as an excellent institution for educational donations in 2022. The certification period is 3 years from 2023 to 2025.

Pukyong National University has recently been recognized by the Ministry of education and the Korea foundation for the advancement of science & creativity for its performance in operating representative educational donation programs such as 'summer fisheries school' and 'marine science camp', following the accreditation in 2019, it will continue to certify as an excellent educational donation institution.

The donation for education accreditation is a system that discovers and certifies institutions that take the lead in giving back education to society and establishing a sharing culture for nurturing future talent.

Pukyong National University operated the 'summer marine science camp' and 'summer fisheries school', an educational donation program that utilizes educational infrastructure based on the university’s specialized capabilities and was recognized for its social contribution and improvement of educational competitiveness.

Since 1992, Pukyong National University has been providing opportunities to explore marine resources using a training ship and experience on board for middle and high school students and teachers through the marine science camp. In addition, since 1999, it has been operating a summer fishery school and has provided experimental and practical programs in the field of fishery science for middle school students and teachers. These programs, held every year, have more than 3,500 participants.

As Pukyong National University continues this accreditation, it plans to use the university's educational infrastructure to strengthen the operation of its educational donation program. <Pukyong Today>
