‘Kickoff ceremony for 2023 of Pukyong National University’ held

On January 2, Pukyong National University President Jang Young-Soo stressed, “Let’s reborn as a community that does not hesitate to take on new challenges within the strong fence of Pukyong.”

President Jang Young-Soo made this announcement in his new year’s address at the 2023 kick-off ceremony held in the conference room on the second floor of the administration building this morning.

The kickoff ceremony was held offline for the first time in three years with the participation of Pukyong National University’s members, including President Jang Young-Soo, academic affairs committee members, and faculty members.

President Jang Young-Soo said in his New Year’s address, “Last year was a meaningful time that our university took a big step forward in innovation.”

President Jang Young-Soo pointed out these as the achievements of Pukyong National University last year such as establishment of a convergence academic education and research system centered on high-tech industries, expansion of research and R&D, promotion of industry-academia-institute cooperation and expansion of international exchange, significant expansion of infrastructure for education, research, and facilities, professor’s international research achievements and students of Pukyong National University were active in national societies and competitions.

Next, President Jang Young-Soo emphasized this year's priority projects, saying, “Now that we have welcomed the new year, let's take a moment to catch our breath, gather our strength, and renew our resolve to open up a bright future for our Pukyung city.”

Specifically, he said, “After establishing and reorganizing many policies and systems to strengthen education and research capabilities, I will now focus all my capabilities on operating these policies in a substantial way so that each member can feel them.”

He added, “We will establish ourselves as a prestigious university active on the national and global stage by cooperating with related organizations such as the central and local governments, strengthening cooperation with the local community as well as universities in the metropolitan area and the world so that the establishment of high-tech departments and the expansion of related facilities can proceed seamlessly.”

At the kickoff ceremony, awards ceremonies were also held, such as university development contributor award, model civil servant award, minister of education commendation, best employee of the year and 4th quarter best employee, and best employee of security company. <Pukyong Today>
