In the 21st century, interest in the marine industry has been steadily increasing. This is due to a variety of industries becoming interested in marine resources and the potential of the marine industry, including the highly developed science technology and information industries. Our division was established to undertake consistent research into the education of marine business and economics, and we play a major role in the marine industry by contributing to the consistent development of the Korean marine industry through the nurturing of advanced intellectuals and the fostering of systematic research into marine business related to fisheries, and marine transport and harbor supply.
This department is the only department of marine, fisheries social science that totally researches business administration, economy and international problems in the marine fisheries area. Therefore, the department reacts flexibly to industrial environment changes in the fisheries and marine industries within Korea and abroad by establishing the various research and education programs that are necessary for the development of the fishery and marine industries in the 21st century. We have established marine business and economics major courses, and all these majors have been created with the aim of nurturing professionals for the marine industry and its policies.
Types of Certified Licenses
Chartered Accountants, tax accountants, survey valuators, financial analysts, future accountants, administration trainers, Certified Public Labor Attorneys, loss adjusters, distribution controllers, and customs brokers.
Possible Careers After Graduation
The fishery industry, the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives, government servants, Institution of Fishery and Oceanography Relationship, education, production companies, complex companies, distribution, finance, insurance, and more. As many international conferences are related to fisheries and the marine industry with a considerable number of changes to the international environment of marine life in the 21st century, the demand for marine and fishery professionals is increasing. We therefore look forward to seeing their work in international organizations.
- General : General marine companies, officers at the Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, government servants in Busan and regional government bodies, Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives, Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives for each area and career, fishery trade companies, fishery supply companies, Fishery Department of Supermarkets, general financial companies, distribution companies, marine transport and harbor-related companies and organizations, marine tourism hotels and tourism-related areas, and international fishery organizations.
- Research : General graduate schools, the Korea Maritime Institute, researchers at the Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives, National Fisheries Research and Development Institute, Busan Development Institute, other universities and research centers within Korea and abroad.
