Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) has embarked on fostering the blue food-tech industry by establishing cooperative networks with the local community and industry.

On March 19th in the afternoon, Pukyong National University, along with relevant organizations such as the Busan metropolitan city, Korea maritime institute (KMI), Korea food research institute, Korea food-tech association, and Busan techno park, signed a business agreement at the conference hall on the 3rd floor of Busan city hotel, to establish an ecosystem for the blue food-tech industry.

Blue food, referring to seafood, is a term that emphasizes the nutritional value of seafood and its low carbon footprint in the production process, highlighting its environmental importance, while blue food-tech involves applying advanced technologies like AI, robotics, and biotech in seafood consumption, distribution, and production processes.

With this agreement, institutions including Pukyong National University will initiate governance among relevant agencies and establish a network of collaboration between local communities, industries, and academia to foster blue food-tech based on the integration of food technologies into seafood businesses and regional development.

Pukyong National University is resolved to foster the blue food-tech industry ecosystem by establishing collaborative frameworks among government, industry, and academia, including joint research, expertise sharing, and support for seafood companies, while also actively participating in academic conferences, exhibitions, and other activities to broaden the industry's reach.

Pukyong National University plans to engage in customized professional workforce development and industrial support through specialized education programs tailored to blue food-tech, in addition to fostering cooperation among government, industry, and academia through this agreement.

Busan city is responsible for administrative support areas such as fostering businesses, creating industrial infrastructure, and operating networks, while the Korea maritime institute is tasked with policy research on blue food-tech and supporting the activation and industrialization of the seafood industry.

The Korea food research institute is responsible for food-tech research and supporting industrialization, while the Korea food-tech association is involved in research, developing policy tasks, and expanding the industry's reach, Busan techno park supports collaboration between government, industry, and academia, as well as planning and operating policy projects and supporting industrialization.

Following the agreement ceremony on this day, a corporate meeting among next-generation business leaders was also held to promote the development of the blue food-tech industry. <Pukyong Today>
