PKNU Student Startups Achieve USD 3.62M in Orders and USD 7M in Investment at Vietnam Tech Event
- A milestone at the Global Tech. Meet-up in Ho Chi Minh City

Student startup companies from Pukyong National University (President Bae Sang-Hoon) achieved a remarkable feat at the inaugural Global Tech. Meet-up held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on September 23, securing a total of USD 10.62 million through export deals and investment agreements.
Five student-run startup teams affiliated with Pukyong National University’s Graduate School of Technology Management (Dean Lee Woon-Sik) signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) worth USD 3.62 million with Vietnamese buyers and sealed investment contracts totaling USD 7 million during the event.
The 1st Global Tech. Meet-up was co-hosted by Pukyong National University’s Graduate School of Technology Management and its RISE Project Group, in conjunction with the Vietnam Pioneer Buyer Consultation Program organized by the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME). This event was part of the Global Advanced Strategic Industry Technology Management Talent Development Project, aimed at supporting the overseas expansion of student startup companies and strengthening their global business capabilities.
At PKNU’s Graduate School of Technology Management, current industry professionals are pursuing master’s and doctoral degrees while simultaneously launching their own startups. Likewise, aspiring entrepreneurs are actively engaging in technology commercialization during their graduate studies, highlighting the school’s strong focus on innovation and business development.
Among the participating companies were five student startups: △ JK Inc. (customized cosmetic manufacturing device), △ MBAS Co., Ltd. (AI app platform), △ Ocean Planet Co., Ltd. (sunken ship location identification system), △ Taeyoung Fan Guard (non-contact power transmission system), and
△ Tehillim (traditional tea). All five achieved tangible outcomes in export and investment agreements at the event.
Dean Woon-Sik Lee of the Graduate School of Technology Management personally attended the event alongside the company representatives. As these firms continue their consultations with local buyers, additional contracts are anticipated soon.
Dean Woon-Sik Lee stated, “This investment attraction proves our students’ capacity for innovation on a global scale. We will continue to support their efforts so they can thrive in international markets.”
Meanwhile, the Graduate School of Technology Management at Pukyong National University has been leading the training of global experts in technology business for 15 years, since launching its Technology Management Interdisciplinary Program in 2011. <Pukyong Today>
