Pukyong National University will run its second project 'Leader Training Course' among demonstration programs for establishing the International Organization for World Fisheries University under the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

Pukyong National University Fisheries Graduate School (Director Lee Sang-go) participated in Leader training course 'opening ceremony which was held in the seminar room on the 2nd floor of the Academic Information Center on April 27, attended by PKNU President Kim Young-seup, Yang Dong-yeop, the International Welfare Policy Officer of Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, and Song Sam-jong, the director of the Marine Fisheries Bureau of Busan.

This program, sponsored by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries and Busan is the second demon project for the establishment of the World Fisheries University after the master's Program, which is operated by Pukyong National University from last year.

The goal of this course is to provide systematic education programs for the development of fisheries in developing countries and to train leaders in the global fisheries field to play an active role in the fisheries field.

The participants of the course are all 15, including public officials, researchers, and engineers in the fisheries sector recommended by seven governments including Venezuela, Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sierra Leone, Myanmar, Thailand and Oman.

They will learn about the five areas of fisheries processing, fisheries, aquaculture, fishery processing, fisheries resource management, fisheries management and economic management for 43 weeks until the next February.

For this, they will be provided lectures provided by professional faculty members in each field, as well as industrial field learning to find fishing grounds, farms, processing plants, etc. in Busan, Gyeongnam, and Jeonnam, and education and research field trips to fisheries related organizations such as the National Fisheries Research Institute Training courses.
