Appointed as Busan Development Institute...A comprehensive policy research institute founded in 1992. BDI, a research institute in Busan Metropolitan City, is a regional comprehensive policy research institute established in 1992. They analyze urban issues in Busan to present policy alternatives and focus on city policy development to improve the life quality of Busan citizens. It is located in Yangjeong-dong, Busanjin-gu, Busan.
The newly appointed director Lee has received a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Illinois in USA after graduating from the department of political science and diplomacy at Yonsei University and Pusan national university high school. In 2003, he served as Secretary of State Balanced Development in the Presidential Secretariat of the Participatory Government, Secretary of the Presidential Secretariat in Northeast Asia in 2005 ~ 2006, Assistant Secretary for the Improvement of the Presidential Secretariat System in 2006 and Senior Secretary of the Civil Society in the Presidential Secretariat in 2006 ~ 2007. He wrote books as 'Regionalism and nomination in Busan from a viewpoint of public choice,' 'Changes and characteristics of Busan regionalism through elections,' 'The present situation and task of education of political methodology', and 'Strolling into politics.' This new director, who majored in political science and diplomacy and international relations, has worked as a professor in political science and foreign affairs at Pukyong National University since 1999. In his inaugural address, Mr.Lee said, "We will make efforts to make position of Busan as an intellectual platform to improve the type with the city management system for the 4th Industrial Revolution era." <Pukyong Today> |
