| PKNU, Selected as a university support project contributing to high school curriculum for 5 years in a row Carrying forward the Improvement and strengthening fairness of College admission system
Pukyong National University (President Kim Young-seup) has been selected by the Ministry of Education for contribution to high school education for five years in a row. The Pukyong National University has been selected as a continuation university by the Ministry of Education in the mid-term evaluation of the university’s contribution to high school education in 2019 announced on July 7. The university support project for contributing to high school education is a project to improve the admission selection of universities in order to improve the quality of high school education and relieve the burden on students and parents’ entrance fees to universities. This project, which was implemented on a yearly basis until 2017, has been extended to two years from the last year, and after one year of implementation, it will carry out an interim evaluation and decide whether it continues or stop supporting. Pukyong National University has been selected for the project for five years in a row since it was selected for the project in 2015, and received an additional grant of at least 405 million won after receiving 844 million won in last year. With this government subsidy, the university plans to improve its entrance exams and run high school education support programs. Pukyong National University will improve the selection system such as the relaxation of the lowest academic standards of the university entrance examination in 2021 and the expansion of local talent selection in Busan, Ulsan and Gyeongnam to attract talented local people, and plans to increase the fairness monitoring team to enhance fairness in the selection process. The university will also expand high school-university linkage programs such as the major public relations department that has been operating to help students understand the major of middle and high school students.
