Pukyong National University Holds 8th Homecoming Day
On the 19th at the University Theater and Grass Square

Pukyong National University (President Kim Young-seup) and Pukyong National University Alumni Association (Chairman Jeong Yong-pyo) held the 8th Homecoming Day, an alumni visiting festival of alumni at the University Theater and Grass Square on the morning of October 19.

On the day, Pukyong National University was proud to present Alumni Prize to Alumni who showed honor to their alma mater, including President Kim Young-seup, Association Chairman Jeong Yong-pyo and former President Jang Seon-deok and Han Sang-sook.

The winner of the 16th Prize for Pukyong people Award are 4 people including Ock Chi-nam, Chairman of Orum Engineering Co., Ltd. (71yr old, Dept. of Civil Engineering, enrolled 1966), Seo Young-ok Ceo of Fine Technology ( 63yr old, Dept. of Chemical Engineering, enrolled in 75), Han Jeong-soo, CEO of Honestpino Co.,Ltd.(44yr old, Dept. of Marine Bio-Materials and Aquaculture, enrolled in 94) and Joo Young-heum, CEO of Inca Internet Co.,Ltd. (43yr old, Dept. of IT Convergence and Application Engineering, enrolled in 96)

The Chairman Ock Chi-nam was recognized as a member of the Busan Metropolitan City Construction Technology Review Committee and participated in large-scale national construction projects such as Gwangan Bridge. CEO Seo Young-ok pioneered the industrial semiconductor tape field to grow the company into a global company, and contributed to enhancing the status as a female company and developing a venture company.

CEO Han Jeong-soo was recognized for pioneering a new field in the beverage market with a differentiated coffee franchise, and CEO Joo Young-heum was the world's first online game security market as the first generation of security that co-founded Hauri, a computer security company. Was pioneered and led the development of the PC security service industry.

Before the event, President Kim Young-seop received a greeting from alumni and said, "Thank you very much for your overseas alumni who have visited you from a distance. We will do our thorough education and research to make my alma mater proud of you. We will work together with more than 1,500 faculty members to become a university that works with the region, a nation and society."

The dinner was held at Daeyeon Campus grass square following the proud Pukyong Prize award for the first part of the day, the introduction of the development status and vision of the university, and the delivery of funds for the alma mater.

In the event of delivery of denomination's development fund, CEO Seo Young-ok of Fine Technology delivered 10 million won to the alma mater.

Chairman of Alumni Association, Jeong Yong-pyo said, “As a homecoming day, we are uniting and cooperating to become a university that fulfills the role and mission of the national university leading society and national development. Let's combine the power of 210,000 alumni to achieve our high spirit.”

President Kim Young-seup said, “Today's proud status of Pukyong was possible because of the passionate spirit of you, alumni who have always been breaking new ground. As a member of a warm and creative Pukyong community that challenges and strives to grow with others, neighbors and the world, let us vigorously explore the future.” <Pukyong Today>
