President Kim said, “With the color and personality of our Pukyong, we have made clear achievements that have never been done before, and have filled the inside of us with the fame of Pukyong National University.", and President Kim looked back at 2019, saying, “The largest government funding project ever made with enthusiasm has become a stepping stone to the leap of Pukyong National University, which marches vigorously toward the unknown world with the meaning of empowering students and universities, community development and humanity.” He emphasized that, “The higher education environment faced by the decline in school population is changing rapidly from university admissions competition to university survival competition, from domestic university competition to global university competition,” he said. "But we always have a brilliant history that has turned the crisis into an opportunity for development and leap. The word hardship means to use adversity when hardship is encountered. If we do together, crisis can turn into opportunity, fear can turn into excitement.” He stressed, "In difficult times, let's make 2020 a starting point for our university's global status by reflecting on the spirit of 'our roads, new roads, and roads of new challenges'.” In the official commendation and awards ceremony, Park Sang-hyeon (Division of International Area Studies), Jo Jeong-min (Division of Japanese Language and Literature), Park Joon-hyeong (Dept. of English Language and Literature), Seo Seong-yong (Dept. of Chemistry), Jeon Yong-jae (Dept. of Microbiology), Lee Jin-soo (Dept. of Business Administration), Kim Cheol-soo (Division of International Commerce), Bae Seong-yong (Dept. of Naval Architecture and Marine Systems Engineering), Lee Kyeong-chang (Dept. of Control and Instrumentation Engineering), Nam Seung-yoon (Dept. of Biomedical Engineering), Kim Do-Hyeong (Dept. of Aquatic Life Medicine), Lee Tae-yoon (Combined Dept. of Environmental Engineering), Kim Dong-kyu (Department of Mechanical and Naval Architecture Convergence Engineering), Kim Eun-Joo (Basic Liberal Arts Education Center) 14 people including professors were selected as an academic development scholar. Ryu Seong-yeop (Division of General Administration) was the recipient of the Prime Minister's Best Civil Service Certificate, and those who received the citation from the Minister of Education were Kim Yoon-jeong (Division of finance), Park Kook-joo (Division of Student Service and Welfare), Bae Won-tae (Division of finance), Song Jeong-hee (Division of General Administration), Won Young-min (Information and Computer Center) and Lee Ah-ram (Human Resources Development Group) who received the citation from the Busan Regional Employment Labor Office.
