PKNU won the best awards in doctoral and master’s section at the Future Scientist Award of Busan The grand prize for Ph.D. and master’s degree in engineering at the ’16th Future Scientist Award of Busan’ of this year by the Federation of Busan Science and Technology and Busan was awarded to Han Joo-won (completed a doctoral course, Kim Yong-hyeon, advisory professor) of the Department of Display Engineering and Jeong Mi-jin (2nd year of master’s, Kim Joo-hyeon, advisory professor) of the Polymer Engineering at Pukyong National University. The Future Scientist Award of Busan has come in since 2005 to foster the next generation of local scientific talent. 2 million won will be awarded to the doctoral section, and 1 million won will be awarded to the grand prize winner in the master’s section. Han Joo-won, who received the grand prize in the Ph.D. in Engineering, received the award by publishing 20 SCI-level papers, including research achievements in improving light extraction efficiency through research on alternative transparent electrodes and light extraction structures for organic light-emitting diodes (OLED). Ms. Han was recognized for her achievements in research on transparent electrodes such as conductive polymers and silver nanowires, as well as research on the light extraction structures that enhance the light extraction efficiency of OLED devices. At the same time, Jeong Mi-jin, who received the Grand Prize in the Master’s degree in engineering, received the award for her research capabilities, such as publishing 5 SCI-level papers while researching the field of improving the efficiency of organic solar cells. Ms. Jeong was recognized for research on improving the efficiency of organic solar cells using changes in the size of ions of the electrolyte, such as research on improving the efficiency by inserting an intermediate layer made of a small molecular electrolyte between the electron transport layer and the photoactive layer of the organic solar cell. Pukyong National University is receiving the grand award and excellence award at the Future Scientist Award of Busan every year. <Pukyong Today> |
