Two project groups of PKNU were finally selected for the 'Campus Asia Expansion Project'
- A project will be hosted by the Dept. of Marine & Fisheries Business and Economics · Dept. of Artificial Intelligence Convergence … and receives financial support for 5 years
Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) announced on the 2nd that two new project groups were finally selected for the '2021 CAMPUS Asia Korea-Japan-China expansion project' hosted by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Council for University Education.
This project is a representative student exchange project in the field of higher education that promotes mutual understanding and facilitates exchanges between universities by activating joint degrees and dual degrees between universities in Korea, Japan, and China. In this project, which selects 20 project groups, including Pukyong National University, Seoul National University, Yonsei University, KAIST, and Korea University were newly selected.
Pukyong National University was selected for two project groups in this project, each supervised by the Dept. of Marine & Fisheries Business and Economics and the Dept. of Artificial Intelligence Convergence, each project group will receive 120 million won in project expenses annually by 2026.
Pukyong National University is going to increase exchanges with Nagasaki University in Japan, Ocean University of China, and University Malaysia Terengganu through the 'Education Program for Sustainable Fisheries Resources and Joint Management of the Marine Environment' by the project group supervised by the Department of Oceans and Fisheries Management in accordance with this project selection.
At the same time, the Department of Artificial Intelligence Convergence will strengthen exchanges with the University of Yamanashi in Japan, Hangzhou Dianzi University in China, and the University Malaysia Perlis through the ‘On-site problem-solving AI and IoT education program’ hosted by the Department of Artificial Intelligence Convergence.
These project groups plan to expand international exchange through this project, including the development of online and offline joint education courses, and support for living expenses, settlement support, and emergency assistance for dispatched students.
Meanwhile, the Campus Asia project was adopted as a new project at the 3rd Korea-Japan-China summit in May 2010 and is planned to be promoted as an expansion project for a total of five years (2021~2026) after passing through the first phase pilot project (2011~2015) and the second phase main project (2016~2021). <Pukyong Today>
