Oh Da-Geon (1-year student studying in master’s program) from the department of industry 4.0 convergence bionics engineering in Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo), won the ‘Asia-pacific conference (TERMIS-AP 2022)’ hosted by the Korean tissue engineering regenerative medicine society in 2022.
Oh awarded for her research on ‘Optimization of printability of alginate-based bio-inks using rheology informed machine learning’ (advisory prof. Nam Seung-Yoon) at this international conference recently held at the Jeju convention center.
In this presentation, Oh was recognized outstanding research achievements by presenting research results that improved prediction accuracy and learning rate compared to existing models after combining rheology informed machine learning with bioprinting technology for 3D printing artificial tissues or organs.
Professor Nam Seung-Yoon (medical engineering major) said, “This research, which received an excellent presentation award, is expected to contribute greatly to the improvement of manufacturing speed and precision, which is currently pointed out as a disadvantage of extrusion process-based bioprinting technology. I think that the awardee started her research early in the combined undergraduate and MS program and got good results this time.”
Meanwhile, 1,350 people from 33 countries, including north America and Europe, participated in the Asia-pacific conference of the Korean tissue engineering regenerative medicine society, which was the largest among the regional conferences of the international society of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. <Pukyong Today>
