PKNU selected as the southeast area leading university of 'startup co-op university for transition of edu'

-Gyeongsang national univ., Ulsan univ., and Changwon univ. also participates to make a leap forward as a hub for startup education in the southeast part of Korea

Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) was selected as the leading university in the southeastern region for the 'SCOUT, startup co-op university for transition of edu' project business and will play a role in leading entrepreneurship education in the local community.

Pukyong National University was selected as a consortium formed with participating universities including Gyeongsang national university, Ulsan university, and Changwon university in the final selection result of this project announced by the Ministry of education and the National research foundation of Korea on June 26.

This project was prepared to expand the existing 'startup educational university’ to train startup human resources and reduce the educational capacity gap between regions. By region, Chung-Ang university (metropolitan region), Chungnam national university (Chungcheong region), Yeungnam university/Daekyung university (Daekyung/Gangwon region), Pukyong National University/Ulsan university of science (Southeast region), and Chonnam national university/Chosun university of science and technology (Honam/Jeju region) were each selected as host universities.

Following the selection of this project, each cooperation, including Pukyong National University, will receive 750 million won (400 million for colleges) of business support for 5 years (2+3 years) this year, operate a startup support organization and the 'startup co-op cooperation for edu' and promote industry-specific startup education specialized for local governments.

Pukyong National University is not only positioning itself as a startup co-op university for transition of edu that represents the southeast part of Korea, but also received an excellent score in the evaluation of local government collaboration and community-based startup activation program among general university associations in this evaluation. Therefore, it is expected that this project, which is scheduled to be reorganized into a regional innovation-oriented university support system (RISE) in 2025 two years later, will successfully settle in the southeast area.
