The 'Power semiconductor specialized complex development promotion group', which aims to foster Busan's high-performance compound power semiconductor industry, held an inauguration ceremony at the Westin chosun hotel in Haeundae-gu, Busan on October 25 and began full-scale activities.
The promotion group is headed by Lee Seong-Gwon, deputy mayor from the economic affairs of Busan city, and consists of a general promotion team, corporate support team, and secretariat, and plays a central role in plannings to develop a specialized complex for power semiconductor materials, components, and equipment.
Twenty organizations, including local universities such as Pukyong National University, Busan city, Gijang-gun, power semiconductor companies, associations, and related agencies, formed a consultative body and served as the decision-making body of the promotion group.
The 20 institutions participating in the promotion team are Pukyong National University, Busan city and including Gijang-gun, SK powertech, Trinnotechnology, BtoZ, JMJ Korea, Hyosung chemical, STI, Hyosung electric, Pusan national university, the national Korea maritime & ocean university, Dong-a university, Dong-eui university, UNIST, Korea electrotechnology research institute, Busan techno park, BISTEP, Korea power device industry association, the Korean institute of electrical and electronic material engineers and others.
Busan city decided to strengthen expertise by appointing professor Shin Hoon-Kyu from the department of semiconductor engineering at Pohang university of science & technology as a policy advisor to the city of Busan in the power semiconductor field, and Kim Young-Boo, head of the policy planning department at Busan techno park, as the secretary general of the promotion group.
In addition, 18 organizations, including Pukyong National University, Busan City, Gijang-gun, power semiconductor companies, and universities, signed a business agreement on this day to cooperate for job creation, recruitment of local talent, and development of related industries.
SK powertech, Trinnotechnology, BtoZ, JMJ Korea, Hyosung electric, Pukyong National University, Pusan national university, the national Korea maritime & ocean university, Dong-a university, Dong-eui university, UNIST, Korea electrotechnology research institute, Busan techno park, Korea power device industry association and the Korean institute of electrical and electronic material engineers participated in the agreement.
After the Southerneast area radiological & medical sciences industrial complex in Gijang was designated as a specialized complex for power semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment last July, Busan city has formed a specialized complex promotion team (TF) at Busan techno park and has been carrying out follow-up measures such as infrastructure establishment for materials, parts, and equipment and R&D project demand surveys to respond to the Ministry of industry, Korea institute for advancement of technology, and Korea evaluation institute of industrial technology's support project. <Pukyong Today>
