The 'dream and talent development program for youth ladder of hope with PKNU guardians' began on January 15th with a 5-day schedule with students from Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) during their winter vacation to support youth in residential care to discover and develop their dreams and talents.

During this period, about 50 KNU guardian students from Pukyong National University participated in activities such as cooking, woodworking, gardening, media, engineering, and crafts at Aloysius basecamp (Amnam-dong, Busan) with about 100 adolescents in residential care from the youth recovery center in Gimhae and Changwon, Busan.

Pukyong National University students formed groups with teenagers and engaged in activities such as making pizza and bulgogi, making art using wood tools, growing companion plants, experiencing digital drawing, assembling self-driving car blocks, and making photo albums.

The 'PKNU guardian' students who participated in this activity are university students belonging to a social contribution volunteer group that supports self-reliance as well as sports and counseling activities for local youth.

Last month, they invited protected teenagers to the campus and held sports events such as soccer, and then called themselves siblings for youth in residential care. Since 2021, they have been regularly carrying out various activities such as educational activities, physical activities, and mentoring to help young people adapt to society as well as discover their dreams and talents.

Pukyong National University is carrying out various activities through cooperation with local organizations such as Mansa sonyeon corporation and Aloysius basecamp to provide support for vulnerable adolescents in the local community. <Pukyong Today>
