The newly launched Busan Open Startup Sharing University is a startup education ecosystem platform designed to support local youth entrepreneurship across all stages, based on inter-university cooperation in startup education.

Specifically, the three universities will jointly develop and operate startup-related academic courses for the Busan Open Startup Sharing University, with plans to offer mutual credit recognition across institutions. In addition to academic offerings, the universities will collaboratively run extracurricular startup programs, share startup infrastructure, and contribute to the local community. Nam-gu District Office will support the initiative through administrative assistance and related services.

Each university also plans to actively leverage its existing expertise from hosting startup fairs, camps, and competitions, while mobilizing its internal startup support departments, personnel, and facilities.

Nam-gu, home to three four-year universities, is known as one of the most vibrant hubs for youth activity in Busan. As such, the launch of the Busan Open Startup Sharing University is expected to serve as a leading model for youth entrepreneurship education and a driver of regional innovation and development.

President Bae Sang-hoon of Pukyong National University stated, “As a major initiative of the Busan-type RISE Project, the establishment of the Busan Open Startup Sharing University is expected to become a platform for creating an innovative startup ecosystem for local youth by promoting inter-university collaboration beyond campus boundaries.” <Pukyong Today>
