Pukyong National University Constructs New Building for College of Information Convergence
- Completion Ceremony for the “Information Convergence Building” Held on August 19

Pukyong National University (President Bae Sang-hoon) held a completion ceremony for its newly constructed Information Convergence Building (D16) on August 19 at the Convergence Hall on the 6th floor of the building.
The university invested a total of 13.5 billion KRW in the project, which began in January 2024 and was completed last month. The new facility, with one basement level and six floors above ground, spans 4,689 square meters and includes lecture rooms, research labs, and conference halls. It will serve as a dedicated space for the College of Information Convergence, one of PKNU’s leading colleges in advanced interdisciplinary education and research.
Established in 2022, the College of Information Convergence was founded to foster future-oriented talent through interdisciplinary academic programs. It currently includes 7 undergraduate divisions, 14 majors, and 2 departments, such as Human-ICT Convergence, Human-Bio Convergence, and Big Data Convergence.
With the completion of the new building, PKNU plans to consolidate facilities related to the College of Information Convergence―previously dispersed across the campus―into one centralized location. This is expected to significantly enhance the university’s educational and research capabilities in high-tech fields.
President Bae Sang-hoon stated, “The completion of the Information Convergence Building marks another milestone in PKNU’s journey to become a research-driven university that leads education and R&D in cutting-edge fields. We will continue to focus on creating a specialized and advanced interdisciplinary campus environment.” <Pukyong Today>
