High School Students and Parents from the Busan?Ulsan?Gyeongnam Region Begin Preparing for the 2027 Admissions at Pukyong National University
- “Major Exploration for High School Students” and “College Admissions Academy for Parents” Held in Succession

Pukyong National University (President Bae Sang-Hoon) held two consecutive events on January 29 at the Pukyong Convention Hall and the Mirae Building: “ZOOM IN! Finding My Major for High School Students” and the “College Admissions Academy for Parents.”
The university’s Admissions Office (Dean Park In-Ho) organized these events over January 29 and 30 during the winter break to provide high school students and parents from the Busan?Ulsan?Gyeongnam region, who are preparing for next year’s admissions, with early guidance on academic majors and the admissions process.
The “ZOOM IN! Finding My Major for High School Students” program, held at the Pukyong Convention Hall, featured one-on-one consultations in which Pukyong National University professors directly advised students on academic majors and career paths, helping them make informed decisions about their future fields of study.
A total of 22 professors from Pukyong National University took part in the event, providing explanations of departments and majors and conducting one-on-one consultations for approximately 200 first- and second-year high school students from the Busan?Ulsan?Gyeongnam region. In addition, 34 current students, including members of the Major Promotion Team (Pukyong Gyro) and the Admissions Ambassador Group (Pukyong Narae), joined the program to share major-related information and introduce university life, addressing questions frequently asked by high school students.
At the “College Admissions Academy for Parents,” held at Somin Hall in the Mirae Building, approximately 140 parents of high school students from the Busan?Ulsan?Gyeongnam region participated. The session provided guidance on the 2026 admissions process, recent admissions results, the evaluation criteria and sample cases for the holistic student record-based admissions track, and the various major selection systems introduced with the launch of the College of Liberal Studies.
In addition, the university introduced its 2027 admissions system and high school?university linkage programs, and conducted a campus tour led by admissions ambassadors, along with detailed explanations of the academic system and scholarship programs, followed by a Q&A session, which drew strong positive responses from participants.
Meanwhile, Pukyong National University is operating the Ministry of Education’s University Support Program for Contributions to High School Education, through which it continues to implement various initiatives aimed at reducing students’ admissions burdens and strengthening the quality of high school education. <Pukyong Today>
