Pukyong National University held the matriculation ceremony for 2023 school year

Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) held the matriculation ceremony for 2023 school year at the university theater on the morning of February 28.

 

The ceremony, which was conducted face-to-face and live-streamed on YouTube, was attended by freshmen and parents, academic affairs committee members including President Jang Young-Soo, and chairperson Seo Young-Ok of the alumni association.

 

A total of 3,533 students, including 571 from the college of humanities and social science and 215 from the college of natural sciences, 239 from the college of business administration, 1,108 from the college of engineering, 384 from the college of fisheries sciences, 262 from the environmental and marine sciences and technology, 546 from the college of information technology and convergence, 164 from the college of future convergence, and 44 from the global & interdisciplinary studies entered Pukyong National University as freshmen.

 

Park Min-Ah (major of industrial chemistry, polymer engineering) and Yoo Soo-Hyeon (dept. of aquatic life medicine), who entered as grouping top students at the event, received full tuition exemption for 4 years and a scholarship of 1.5 million for first semester and 1 million won each semester.

 

16 new students, including Lee Tae-Kyung (division of international and area studies), who entered with excellent grades in the college, received full tuition exemption for 4 years, 1 million won for the first semester, and five hundred thousand won for each semester.

 

President Jang Young-Soo said to the freshmen that day, “Now, the boundaries of the world became blurred, and the time has come to challenge ourselves with new ideas and methods. Such a world is the stage of your future, and our university will be with you.”

 

He stressed, “You are welcome to study and discuss to your heart's content in an educational facility and space only for you, and I hope you to develop not only expert knowledge in your major, but also systems thinking, entrepreneurial spirit, and convergence skills with tolerance for other cultures and creative sensibility.” <Pukyong Today>
