Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) announced that Ms. Putri Dwi Lammada Rizqiana (2nd-year in master's program), who is studying in the department of marine biology, won the best oral presentation award at the '10th East Asian Federation of Ecological Societies'.

Ms. Putri Dwi Lammada Rizqiana, who is from Indonesia and is studying at Pukyong National University, presented 'a Bayesian State-Space Production Assessment Model for 15 Fish Stocks in the Java Sea, Indonesia' (advisor Hyun Saang-Yoon) at an international conference held in Jeju Island and received excellent reviews from the conference.

In this presentation, she did not focus on one population, but calculated the number of resources and optimal catch for several fish stocks (15 stocks) and estimated the parameters of a nonlinear model using the TMB language by numerical optimization, which was evaluated as meaningful research work.

Advisory professor Hyun Saang-Yoon said, "Putri, an international student from Indonesia, has been recognized by the academic community for her excellent research achievements at the master's level by devoting herself to her studies despite language and cultural differences. We look forward to her future research, including her dissertation."

This large-scale international conference, jointly held by the Ecological society of Korea with the Ecological Society of China (ESC) and the Ecological Society of Japan (ESJ) was held with approximately 800 participants from 11 countries. Established in 1976, the Ecological Society of Korea is an academic organization centered on ecosystem services and biodiversity that leads in solving environmental problems such as climate change and exotic species. <Pukyong Today>
