Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) has produced three successful candidates for the 2023 local talent trainee of grade 7.

Pukyong National University added three names to the list of final successful candidates for the exam recently announced by the Ministry of personnel management: Jeong Yoon-Jeong (dept. of Chinese studies) in the administrative category, and Lee Young-Jin (major of safety engineering) and Jeon Si-Young (dept. of energy resources engineering) in the technical category.

The government official exam for 7th public officer trainee was introduced in 2005 to evenly recruit talented people by region to strengthen regional representation and diversify recruitment channels. Graduates (expected) within the top ten percent of departmental grades are recommended and selected through a written test, document screening, and interview.

A total of 175 people, including 110 in administrative category and 65 in technical category, passed the exam nationwide in this year's exam. Successful candidates, including students from Pukyong National University, will complete basic education within the first half of next year, work as probationary staff for one year at a central administrative agency, and then be appointed as public officer of grade 7 according to the results of the rating procedure.

Jeong Yoon-Jeong said, "There are times when the mock test scores are good, and sometimes the grades are not as good as expected, but I think the most important thing is to have your own will to persevere and not to cling too much on the results. It was most effective to study while communicating with the lecturer through online lectures."

Lee Young-Jin said, "In the PSAT written test, I think I liked the strategy of skipping parts I don't know well and focusing on the parts I am confident about. It is important to find a strategy that suits you by solving a lot of same questions from previous tests."

Jeon Si-Young explained, "During the exam preparation, I realized the importance of mental health care the most. I think I got good results by receiving feedback through the study group and continuing to encourage myself that I am doing well while taking mock exams and solving previous sample tests."

Pukyong National University has been providing a systematic support program for applicants, such as producing many successful candidates every year in the local talent trainee of grade 7 exam and has produced a total of 63 successful candidates so far. <Pukyong Today>
