Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) has announced that XingDa (ph.d. candidate), a graduate school student at the department of educational consulting, and Lee Yoon-Jeong (ph.d.) from the department of fisheries and maritime human resources development published a paper in <Measurement: interdisciplinary research and perspectives>, an international academic journal registered in SCOPUS.
It was recently confirmed that their paper 'flow in relation to academic achievement in online-learning: a meta-analysis study (advisor Heo Gyun, professor) will be published in this academic journal published by global publisher Taylor & Francis.
In this paper, they conducted a meta-analysis on several domestic and overseas papers and presented research results that proposed the possibility that students’ flow experience can lead to academic performance.
The students at Pukyong National University studied the relation between the concept of flow and academic achievement proposed by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, an American psychologist famous for his book 'Finding flow'.
As a result of conducting a meta-analysis based on related papers from Korea and the United States, it was found that there was a correlation between academic achievement and flow, and the effect size (r-index) was medium at 0.48.
XingDa came to study at Pukyong National University from China through the 'graduate degree program for faculty from global PKNU overseas universities' and devoted herself to research, and Lee Yoon-Jeong achieved this research result by focusing on research while serving as the general director of the Korea management coaching laboratory. <Pukyong Today>
