A student from PKNU secured a $300,000 export contract for a local company

- distinguished himself as a 'young trade expert' at the Asia pacific maritime in Singapore'

A student from Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) is drawing attention for personally secured a $300,000 export contract with Heartman co., ltd. (ceo Kim Dong-Chan), a company in Busan.

 

Eom Sang-Hwan (3rd year student majoring in international trade), a student from the YTP GTEP (glocal trade experts incubating) project team at Pukyong National University, achieved notable success by participating in the 'Asia pacific maritime (APM) 2024' held at Marina bay sands in Singapore from March 13th to 15th, supporting export consultation support for Hartman co., ltd.

 

This exhibition, which is Asia's largest maritime conference, attracted participation from 2,879 companies representing 68 countries, with over 15,000 buyers in attendance. Eom Sang-Hwan, the student, was solely responsible for providing export consultation at the booth set up by Heartman co., ltd., a ship engine parts manufacturing company, at this exhibition.

 

He conducted export contract consultations for 106 cases over the course of three days, successfully securing a $300,000 on-site contract for engine parts with company M from Turkey. The company Heartman achieved remarkable results during this period, including six on-site contracts and promotion of 30 contracts, totaling $1 million in potential contracts.

 

Eom Sang-Hwan, based on his excellent English conversation skills and trade-related knowledge, successfully concluded an actual contract by actively highlighting the strengths of Heartman products, such as their excellent quality and prompt delivery. He is currently participating in the Pukyong National University GTEP project team.

 

The GTEP project, supported by the Ministry of trade, industry and energy and the Korea international trade association, aims to cultivate young trade professionals who will excel in trade practices, export marketing, and related fields, and Pukyong National University was selected to participate and is currently operating the program this year.
