PKNU has been selected as a fisheries expert training project of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. This is a strategic project to develope the fisheries industry as a future growth engine for our nation and to develop specialized research personnel for the development of fisheries industry and creation of fusion service of traditional fisheries and fishing settlement. In this project, the Ministry of Oceans and Fishieries considers 3 tasks such as ICT-based Fisheries Resource Research Center, Smart Fish Aquaculture Research Center, and Future Fisheries Food Research Center, and selected two institutions for each project as the first. PKNU was selected as a research plan by Professor Kim Hyun-woo (Dept. of Resource Biology), Professor Park Jeong-hwan (Dept. of Marine Bio-materials & Aquaculture) and Professor Nam Taek-jeong (Dept. of Food Science and Nutrition) were all selected as a principal researcher for the assignment. Only for this year, with the support of 72 million won for each project, PKNU's Fisheries Sciences will carry out planning research in the fisheries field. The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries will evaluate the research results and research development plan of first selection agencies for this year such as Pukyong National University, and plan to select one institution as the final research institute for each project. If selected as the final research institute for each task, we will receive KRW 6.3 billion for up to 8 years from next year.
