PKNU has been selected as 'Autonomous Improvement University' supported by autonomous development
The autonomous improvement University is a university that receives general financial support from the government so that it can develop through autonomous innovation in accordance with the mid to long-term development plans of universities. The Ministry of Education announced on December 23 that it selected 120 universities, including Pukyong National University, as the autonomous improvement universities among the 160 general universities to be evaluated. The final result will be confirmed at the end of this month after a review of the objections. Pukyong National University and other autonomous improvement universities have been evaluated as good universities for the past three years as follows- △ the quality of education and the operation of the university, △ the operation of classes and curriculum, △ support for students, △ educational achievements, and quantitative and qualitative indicators related to basic elements done. The Ministry of Education plans to nurture the selected autonomous improvement college as a leading university for △regional development, creating a virtuous cycle system that will lead to △ mutual growth in the provinces and metropolitan areas that will lead to △ local talent cultivation, local talent settlement, and regional development. The Ministry of Education will provide the results of this diagnosis to autonomous improvement universities, and it will support the university's competitiveness strengthening by self-improving the strengths of universities and supplementing weaknesses. The university's basic capacity assessment, organized by the Ministry of Education's Reform Committee on the Ministry of Education (Chairman Ryu Jang-soo, PKNU) launched in August last year helped the university to improve its publicity and autonomy, improve the quality of education, and △ to respond to the decline in the school-age population by concurrently recommending a reasonable reduction in the number of students and providing students with information. In the meantime, the results of the university basic competences diagnosis showed that there were 207 autonomous improvement universities (120 general universities and 87 junior colleges) that received general financial support without reducing the number of students, 66 for ' universities of capacity enhancement' (30 general universities and 36 junior colleges) which will be received financial support with reducing the number of students, and 20 schools with restricted financial support (10 general universities and 10 junior colleges) with limited financial support. <Pukyong Today> |
