PKNU's '1,000won breakfast' business won the prize of the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. PKNU won the grand prize of the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs for recognition of the best business achievement among the 21 universities nationwide in the 1,000won rice breakfast campaign performance evaluation. PKNU's '1000won breakfast', which was operated to provide a good quality breakfast at a reasonable price, is receiving great response from students, including more than 40,000 people using it this year. The university has been running the ‘1,000 won breakfast’ , and participated in the lunch campaign contest of the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and provided breakfast for 1,000 students at the cafeteria from last year. In this project, PKNU students have used various menus such as cooked rice, stew, omelet, curry rice, kimbap, and porridge for 1,000 won at 3 student cafeterias from 8:30 am to 10:30 am. If the student pays 1000 won for the existing meal price (1500 won ~ 4000 won), the rest is supported by the business support fund of the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the development fund of the Pukyong National University. PKNU was highly evaluated for its ability to efficiently utilize its budget through the active cooperation of student cafeteria in the evaluation of the performance of this project, and to operate '1,000 won breakfast ' in the diet considering taste and nutrition. In the satisfaction survey of Pukyong National University students, satisfaction with various menus and food tastes and quantity was very high. Shin Hyeon-il, the general manager of PKNU student welfare department said, "I am glad that this project helps a little bit in helping students to get breakfast and health."
