Kim Young-seup, the president of Pukyong National University pointed out "cooperation and collaboration" as PKNU's 2019 keyword.

The president Kim said through a New Year's Day in the "2019 Pukyong National University ceremony" held at the conference room on the 2nd floor of the university headquarters on January 2.

He said, "In 2019, the year will be a year of challenge, response, change, and development. We all collaborate / cooperate with each other and let's open our way and new way with our spirit in mind."

One the day, more than 300 people attended the ceremony, including faculty and students.

The president Kim said, "As the first university in Busan, we were able to unleash the challenge and enthusiasm of each of our people on the pride of a long history and classy spirit." He added, "The year 2018 was a year when Pukyong National University was brighter than any other year."
 
The President Kim said, "Last year, great efforts were made to strengthen the capacity of education and research." As a remarkable accomplishment, △ engineering college moved to Dae-yeon campus, △ construction of the largest new training ship in the fisheries industry, △ Selected as the 4th Industrial Revolution Innovative Leading University in the Southeast Region, △ Established the Human Resources Korea Plus Project Team, △ Selected as the autonomous improvement university for the basic capacity assessment of the university, △ Selected for the 4th consecutive year for the university support project for high school education.

Mr. Kim said, "The challenge and enthusiasm of PKNU has been clearly recognized in the world as <one of the most successful examples of university achievement, with synergistic effects in the areas of humanities, natural sciences, management, engineering, fisheries science>."

The president Kim said, "In the new era of the Korean peninsula, our university aims to become a leading university in the Korean peninsula that contributes to inter-Korean cooperation and development. "We will put our eyes all over the world and try to open ourselves up for self-development and university competitiveness."

The President Kim mentioned "In accordance with the mid-to long-term development plans of our newly refurbished college, we pursue innovative personal growth through specialization, expansion, and convergence. We aim at warm social integration that encompasses the hierarchy, I urge you to do your best in your position in order to achieve remarkable progress. "
