△ The view of the Fisheries Maritime Science Research Complex that PKNU will carry out the project of "Future Fisheries Food Research Center" project to nurture fisheries manpower.

Pukyong National University attracts attention by researching and developing professional manpower to introduce the next generation technology such as 3D printer, Internet of things (IoT) to the traditional industry fishery industry.

Pukyong National University has been selected as the "Future Fisheries Food Research Center" project by the MOF (Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries), on January 24.

As a result of this project, Pukyong National University will lead the Professor Nam Taek-jeong (Food and Nutrition Department) as a research leader. From this year to 2025, he will receive 6.9 billion won for 7 years, and 9.9 billion won for up to 10 years and he will pursue ICT convergence research and development and human resource development.

Pukyong National University plans to promote the ICT fusion future fisheries food industry, develop professional human resource development programs in connection with ICT core technologies, and establish infrastructures linked to business incubation through the operation of the Future Fisheries Food Research Center.

To persue it, Pukyong National University developed a multi-processing technology such as 3D printing food cartridges for the fisheries marine science research complex (Dong-baek ri, Gi-jang gun, Busan, Korea), △ developed intelligent quality control and distribution system based on ICT fusion, △ Development of fish food big data analysis and personalized technology development △ Development of health-friendly aged-friendly fishery simple formula △ Development of personalized healthcare fishery food

Along with this, the university plans to cultivate specialists for the establishment of employment and start-up support programs, raw material disposal and hygiene management, artificial intelligence (AI) based fish processing and materials production, and 3D printer based fishery food production.

The 16 professors from Pukyong National University and 7 foreign companies in the fishery food and ICT field will participate in this project.

"We expect this project to be an opportunity to enhance the fisheries industry through convergence with advanced technology and cultivate a foundation for fostering advanced human resources that will lead the next generation of industries," said Kim Young-seup, president of PKNU.

Meanwhile, the Fisheries Expert Training Program of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries is a strategic project to nurture fisheries as a future growth engine in Korea.
