On March 7, Yoo Eun-hye, the deputy prime minister who is also an education minister, said, "Through the national university development project this year, national universities will be able to contribute to regional win-win and balanced national development as a base for regional educational research and innovation. She also emphasized that "We will constantly support the public and private universities to contribute to the publicity and competitiveness of higher education, such as training local talent, guaranteeing higher education opportunities, and educating basic and protected sciences."
The deputy prime minister Yoo have mentioned as follow at the nationwide regular general meeting of the National and Public Universities (Chairman Kim Young-seup, the president of Pukyong National University) held at Crystal Ballroom on 3rd floor of Busan Lotte Hotel on the afternoon of the day.
