Pukyong National University participates in the construction of Busan Engineering Industry Specialized Zone.
Selected as 'Support Project of Business Service Industry Specialized Zone ' by Busan.

Pukyong National University has been selected as an agency to support Busan's 2019 business service industry specialization zone.

This project is a support project that Busan City has been promoting since 2017 in order to strengthen competitiveness of specific industrial area.

Pukyong National University participated in the contest with Nam-gu, Busan and has been selected by submitting the business plan of "Dragon Valley Engineering Industry Special Zone" to Yongdang-dong and Dayeon-dong, in Nam-gu, Busan where 60 engineering companies have converged.

Accordingly, Pukyong Natioanal University will provide 170 million KRW of project funding starting from March, centering on the Industry-University Cooperation Foundation (Head Seo Yong-cheol), to develope this area as an engineering center for the southeast region and to establish a foundation for domestic and overseas shipbuilding and offshore plants.

In order to brand specialized zones into detailed projects, Pukyong National University operate a specialization council for engineering between the regionally converged companies and build and operate a network to share technology and information.

In addition to this, the university will support the joint recruitment fair for the securing of manpower, support for participating in exhibitions and seminars for shipbuilding and offshore plants for domestic and abroad, administrative support for ordering shipbuilding offshore plant projects and support the training program for productivity improvement.

Pukyong National University's Industry-University Cooperation Foundation has decided to cooperate closely with Korea Offshore & Shipbuilding Association (KOSHIPA) for effective implementation of this project.

Seo Yong-cheol, the head of the Industry-University Cooperation Foundation of Pukyong National University said, "Through this project, we will strengthen the differentiated competitiveness of specialized zones to activate new domestic and overseas projects and actively support the shipbuilding engineering companies to take a leap forward with business diversification." <Pukyong Today>
