Pukyong National University Life Academy (Dean Kim Hyung-seok, College of Fisheries Science) held the 2019 Life Academy Completion Ceremony and the 2020 Life Academy Launch Ceremony at the convention hall on the 3rd floor of the Mirae Hall.

Life Academy is a talent development program that helps self-development and future design through self-directed learning with a wide range of reading and discussion.

It is sponsored by Dongwon Group's Educational Foundation and humanity education (Chairman Kim Jae-cheol, an Honorary President of Pukyong National University) and is running for universities including Korea University, Sogang University, Seoul National University, and Yonsei University, including Pukyong National University to nurture outstanding talents.

Thirty participants in the Life Academy of 2020 will be taking a special course to develop their intelligence, personality and problem-solving skills for the next year.

During the semester, they read more than 100 books on humanities and management and gives presentations, discussions, readings, and case studies every Saturday. During vacations, training and company visits are conducted.

In addition, students will develop personality, sociality, and professionalism through activities and volunteer activities such as essay writing, speech, and noun mentoring. Lecturers and mentors include former and current celebrities from universities, companies, governments and public institutions.

Program participants will receive food and training expenses as well as training and company visits. Completion scholarships are also available for self-development scholarships.

At the Life Academy of 2019 Completion Ceremony, which was held on the same day, 20 participants completed all courses and received certificates.

Han Kyung-wan (3rd year, Dept.of metallurgical Engineering), who completed the Life Academy of 2019, said, “As an engineering student, I was able to study deeply in the fields of humanities and business, not in engineering, and to experience business practice.” and he added, “It was a precious time for me to study with the students and learn different ways of seeing the world.” <Pukyong Today>
