Pukyong National University awarded as an excellent partner for development cooperation project and received a letter of appreciation from Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

Pukyong National University received the “Excellent Partner Certificate of Appreciation” for its development cooperation project, which was jointly carried out with KOICA at the 'Night of Customer's Love' event held at COEX, Intercontinental Seoul.

The 'Night of Customer's Love” event is held by KOICA to share the results of the one-year development cooperation project with various partners such as public institutions, corporations, civil society organizations, and academia, and to discuss ways to improve.

Pukyong National University has been awarded for the KOICA Master's Degree Program since 2010, and has been recognized for its contribution to economic development by developing advanced fishery technology in developing countries.

Through this master's degree, Pukyong National University has been actively teaching the know-how of nurturing fishery personnel who have led Korea's import into fisheries, and has produced 149 fisheries experts from 41 countries.

Fisheries experts in developing countries, published by the Pukyong National University, contributed to the development of the international fisheries sector by publishing 30 SCI / SCIE-level papers, and it is leading the development of the domestic fisheries sector by enacting laws on fisheries and aquaculture in Korea and establishing a fisheries company in the government.

Recently, Pukyong National University has been able to draw the support of graduates of the master's degree program at the FAO meeting to attract pilot projects of the world's first FAO World Fisheries University, which is being established with the government.

Dean Kim Hyung-seok, President of Graduate School of Global Fisheries of Pukyong National University, said, “The master's degree program operated by Pukyong National University is helping not only developing countries but also developing friendly personnel for cooperation between Korea and developing countries and securing support for Korea on the international stage.
