The only two persons who passed 'The Technology Examination of 2019 Marine Fisheries’, in the whole country are alumni of Pukyong University.

Pukyong National University named two finalists Lee Seok-jin (the class of 05'), Shin Bae-geun (the class of 08') of Dept. of Aquatic Life Medicine to the list of finalists of the National Civil Service Level 5 (Technology) Open Competition Job Examination for Marine Fisheries (General Fisheries) announced by Ministry of Personnel Management (MPM).

The Pukyong National University have managed to produce two successful candidates from all over the country. Finalists for marine fisheries will work in the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries. Finalists for marine fisheries officer will work in the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF).

Pukyong National University has made outstanding achievements in this field, including the former Deputy Chief of Oceans and Fisheries, the general manager of National Institute of Fisheries Scinece, the Chief of National Institute of Fisheries Science, alumni Sohn Jae-hak (the class of '79 of Marine Biology) and Kang Joon-seok (the class of ’80 of Fisheries Management), the Chief of National Institute of Fisheries Science, Choi Wan-hyeon (the class of ’84 of fisheries management department), and the former Chief of National Institute of Fisheries Scinece, Jeong Young-hoon (the class of '78 of Food Science and Technology) and Seo Jang-woo (the class of '81 of Fisheries Education). <Pukyong Today>
