The newspaper introduced, “Pukyong National University is planning to establish a medical college specialized in nuclear medicine in Radiation Medical General Industrial Complex (Medical Science Center) of Gijang, Busan."

Concerning the creation of the Medical Science Complex, the article stated that “Gijang-gun is pushing for the area of Jangan-eup (1,478,000㎡) to be a nuclear medicine mecca, with Gijang-gun paying 31.97 billion won, the government 66.8 billion won, and Busan City paying 41.4 billion won." and added, "It plans to start construction in 2010 and complete next year, and the construction of the first stage of the site will be completed this year."

The article says, “The industrial complex site includes the heavy particle accelerator treatment center, research reactors, and power semiconductor infrastructure. Some of the industrial complex sites (11,1470㎡) are located in the educational facilities. Pukyong National University plans to establish medical school here.” and added, "The university aims for a kind of 'special purpose medical college' that trains doctors and medical scientists who specialize in radiation medicine rather than general medical colleges."

The article says, “Gijang-gun discussed the location and area of the medical college with Pukyong National University in November last year, and plans to create a Task Force (TF) during this month.” and added, "Gijang-gun and Pukyong National University signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to establish a medical college in Gijang Medical Science Industrial Complex.”
