PKNU - KIRD concluded MOU for training experts in science and technology

Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) and the Korea Institute of Human Resources Development in Science & Technology (Director Park Gwi-chan, KIRD) signed a business agreement (MOU) to train professional manpower in science and technology policy on the 23rd at Pukyong National University.

Jang Young-Soo, the president of Pukyong National University, Park Gwi-chan,  Director of the Korea Institute of Human Resources Development in Science & Technology, Ock Young-seok, Head of the Project, Song Gyo-wook, Director of the Busan Research Institute and Director Kim Byeong-jin from the Busan Innovation Institute of Industrial Science and Technology Planning(BISTEP) participated in the agreement ceremony held in the conference room on the 3rd floor of Hanmir Building in Yongdang Campus of the Pukyong National University. 

Through this agreement, both agreed to cooperate to train science and technology policy experts who will support the development of science and technology and innovation in the region.

Through this, the two organizations plan to △host academic events and conduct joint research, △share and expand domestic and international cooperation networks, △develop careers for science and technology professionals, △use and develop educational contents, and △share information about science and technology policy experts.

Jang Young-Soo, the president of Pukyong National University said, "Our university is expected to create synergies in various fields such as improving the quality of educational programs, developing the careers of human resources, and promoting academic exchange using domestic and international networks through business cooperation with KIRD."

Director Park Gwi-chan said, "We, KIRD, a comprehensive support organization for science and technology talent growth, are very pleased to cooperate with Pukyong National University, which aims to cultivate talented individuals with open minds and people of action, for the future of national science and technology," he went on, "Through this agreement, I look forward to improving the quality of the training programs for experts in science and technology policy to make possible to produce experts in theory and practice."

In addition, Pukyong National University held a signboard hanging ceremony for the support project of training experts in science and technology policy in Engineering Building #3 on Yongdang Campus following the main ceremony.

Since Pukyong National University was first selected for this project hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT in 2016, the Graduate School of Science and Technology Policy opened in 2017 has trained experts in science and technology policy in the Southeast region with the Busan Research Institute, the Busan Innovation Institute of Industrial Science and Technology Planning (BISTEP), Busan Technopark (BTP), Busan United Holdings. In addition, Pukyong National University was selected as the host university of the Graduate School of Science and Technology Policy along with the second phase project last year.
