PKNU held an on·offline Entrance Ceremony of the 2021 school year To prevent the spread of Corona 19, Pukyong National University held the event with only 90 people attending the event, including President Jang Young-soo, a faculty committee member, and a freshman representative, and the entrance ceremony was broadcast live on the school's official YouTube and on-campus electronic boards. On that day, 706 students in the Humanities and Social Sciences, 279 students in the Natural Sciences, 262 students in the Business Administration, 1,432 students from the College of Engineering, 359 students from the Fisheries Science, 295 students from the Environmental and Marine Sciences and Technology, 161 students in the Future Convergence, a total of 3,523 students, including 29 students in the Global Majors, were enrolled as freshmen at Pukyong National University this year. At this entrance ceremony, students Kim Na-young of the Division of International Commerce, Choi Min-seok of the Department of Public Administration, and Yang Seon-seung of the Department of Aquatic Life Medicine, who entered as the top of each group, will be offered full tuition scholarships every year for the next four years, receives 1.5 million won for the entrance semester with a scholarship certificate of 1 million won each semester. Along with them, 19 freshmen who passed entrance exam with the top grades in their college group, including Kim Ji-eun from the Department of Korean Language and Literature, received scholarship certificate of 500,000 won per semester with 1 million won scholarship for the entrance semester and full tuition waiver every year for the next 4 years. President Jang Young-Soo advised to the students, saying, “Now you have become great members of Pukyong National University preparing for a next better future. I hope that you all, as the first generation of innovative beginning that we all create together, will be university students who strive for your own development and the future with ambition and pride.” He continued, “From now on, I hope that you will begin your intense study of designing yourself for the future you are dreamed of. I hope that your time will be full of your passion to find what you really like and move forward for it.” Following the entrance ceremony, Pukyong National University also held the ‘Culture Festival for the Freshmen of the 2021 school year’ which is an orientation event for the new students, on and offline with 90 freshmen attending at the university theater this afternoon, and broadcast events such as student association and club introductions live on YouTube. <Pukyong Today> |
