PKNU, held 'Online Orientation for the Freshmen' On the afternoon of 26, February, Pukyong National University held the 'Culture Festival 2021 for the Freshmen' with 90 new students attending at the university theater. As events such as orientation for new students have been completely canceled due to the spread of Corona 19 since last year, Pukyong National University has minimized the number of event attendees this year, and only some freshmen participated by casting lots. In addition, the event was broadcast live on YouTube, both online and offline. Particularly, at the event this year, an event where freshmen and parents communicated and exchanged with the participants on site, including President Jang Young-Soo, through a video conferencing program, received favorable responses from viewers. Along with an announcement on the academic calendar, scholarship system, internationalization program, a guide to university life for freshmen and introduction of the student association, as well as talent shows of new students, introduction of the club associations, and club performances were proceeded favorably. President Jang Young-Soo said to the freshmen, "We warmly congratulate and welcome all of you who have become freshmen of Pukyong National University. Let's move forward with all sincerity and heartily pursuing each individual's dream." Meanwhile, at Pukyong National University this year, 706 students in the Humanities and Social Sciences, 279 students in the Natural Sciences, 262 students in the Business Administration, 1,432 students from the College of Engineering, 359 students from the Fisheries Science, 295 students from the Environmental and Marine Sciences and Technology, 161 students in the Future Convergence, a total of 3,523 students, including 29 students in the Global Majors, were enrolled as freshmen. <Pukyong Today> |
