• The Humanities and Social Science Research Center
  The Humanities and Social Science, Research Center was established in 1999 to stimulate and activate research on Humanities and the Social Sciences. It provides various services for flexible research support. The center is divided according to its various functions into administration affairs, educational affairs, editing affairs, research affairs and industry development affairs. It has also started various business operations such as the publishing of journals and planned books, the holding of symposiums, invited lectures, open lectures, special lectures and colloquiums.
• The International Region Research Center
  The International Region Research Center was established to reflect the strong interest in each region as globalism started to spread. Dividing the world into three regions (Europe, North America, North East Asia), it focuses on research and education on each of these regions. Currently, we are forming a network that will provide fast information by installing an information center in each of these regions.
• The Design Research Center
  The Design Research Center was established in 2000 with the goal of conducting design surveys of domestic and foreign universities and identifying innovative and developing design culture trends in Korea.
• The Maritime Culture Research Center
  The Maritime Culture Research Center consists of a research center that is leading the marine era of the 21st century through local surveys, research presentations, seminars, lectures, and the publishing of journals about maritime culture for the expansion of perpectives on (and recognition of) marine culture.
• The Regional Society Research Center
  The Regional Society Research Center aims to contribute to the development of regional society and industry through research activities related to regional problems by collecting information from regional society such as strategies for the formation of regional politics, regional social economic structures and regional innovative organizations.
• The Research Center of Law
  The Research Center of Law was established in December 2004 to contribute to the education of law by initiating research on the theory and practices of law. To pursue this aim, it incorporates research, lectures, open seminars and the publishing of research books on important matters of law. It also strives to cooperate with other research centers within Korea and abroad by supporting other judicial services for the collection and use of research data.
• The Public Policy Research Center
  The Public Policy Research Center was is established to contribute to the development of Korean administration through structural research about theory and practices of administration. It also aims to contribute to the development of Busan and improve the status of PKNU, the regional base university. At the same time, through its development program for professional research and administrative management for regional government officials, it aims to resolve the many complicated tasks confronting Busan.
• The Development of Human Resources and Labor Research Center
  Human resources have become undeniably important for the improvement of individuals, organizations and the nation with the advent of the knowledge-based economy. The resolution of labor problems is important for social development. Accordingly, human resources and labor-related departments like the Ministry of Education & Science Technology, the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Knowledge Economy are investing a substantial portion of their budgets and labor force into this area of research and education. The Development of Human Resources and Labor Research Center was established to process human resources and labor-related research and various businesses around the nation and region.
• The Research Center for American Studies
  The Research Center for American Studies was established to undertake complex research into politics, economics, society and the culture of America. By doing so, it has qualitatively improved the education of American studies at this university. Furthermore, it has established a labor pool by nurturing professional intellectuals specializing in American studies through journal exchanges and various service businesses related to American studies.
• The Research Center of Gifted Children
  The Research Center of Gifted Children aims to contribute to the development of education for gifted children in Korea through systemized research on the theory and practices of education for gifted children. It was also established to foster the self-realization of gifted children and outstanding intellectuals by giving them the opportunity to have education at a level that is appropriate for their ability and talent in order to develop their potential to the maximum. Thus, our center aims to identify and nurture intellectuals with creative and special talents from an early age.
• The North-East Asian Culture Research Center
  The North-East Asian Culture Research Center. Currently, globalism and regionalism are occurring simultaneously. Globalism through personal, material and cultural exchanges among nations is ever increasing as the activities of such organizations as the EU and ASEAN continue to accelerate. But while regional communities in Europe and the US are developing, North-East Asia, and the Korean Peninsula, in particular, has not yet overcome the vestiges of the Cold War and has been left behind to an extent. It is therefore necessary to construct a community in North-East Asia with 'open regionalism' with European and American society.
  Therefore, the North-East Asian Culture Research Center strives to promote international scholarship competitiveness of research in the North-East Asian region in various ways in order to realize its vision of overcoming the present limitations of the region and promoting it to the world at large.
  Busan, Shanghai and Fukuoka - all part of the North-East Asian region - form a triangular belt subregion. The 'BUSHAFU Plan' has been created as a means of establishing a symbiosis for this region. It is envisaged that this will be a more realistic and efficient means of researching and surveying exchanges between Busan in Korea, Shanghai in China and Fukuoka in Japan - all countries which despite their different historic backgrounds have similar geographics and international trade ports, when considered as a subregion of North-East Asia. We belive that this is a necessary undertaking, and we are striving to become a base stone of the North-East Asian region.
• The Asia Story-Telling Research Center
  The Asia Story-Telling Research Center researches the items on the list below in order to contribute to scholarly exchanges within Korea and abroad and to digital story telling. The center's aim is to foster cultural awareness of story telling in Korea and Asian countries through its research.

• The History and Culture Research Center
  The History and Culture Research Center aims to contribute to world history and culture, including the promotion of history and the culture of regional society and North-East Asia, through the activation of exchanges of related journals within Korea and abroad. By doing so, the center aims to develop and accelerate research of Eastern and Western history and culture.
• The Busan Development Research Center
  The Busan Development Research Center is attached to the research center of PKNU, and was established for scholarly professional research related to Busan's regional development, including city management, large-scale development, industrial cooperation and local self-government.
• The Daema Island Research Center
  Today, the dominium of islands and the ocean is the main element of crisis in North-East Asia. However, Korea, China and Japan feel the necessity of overcoming this risk through inter-cooperation within this rapidly changing world. We have put Daema Island at the center of our research by foreseeing this inter-cooperation and future.
  The Daema Island Research Center primarily comprises 8 research committees with 43 famous scholars (professors) and professionals, and it is envisaged that more than 100 scholars and professionals will eventually participate in this research. We also plan to undertake expanded research on the islands around the Korean peninsula, exploring the history primarily of Daema Island. The Daema Island Research Center will strive to maintain the identity of our nation and region through scholarly research of those islands situated near the Korean peninsula and pursue the appropriate understanding of the respective histories of Korea and Japan by focusing on Daema Island.
