The first time PKNU has entered the QS world university rankings

Pukyong National University entered the World University Rankings for the first time under the evaluation conducted by QS (Quacquarelli Symonds), the world's leading provider of insight to the global higher education sector in the UK.

    

According to the World University Rankings list released by QS on the 9th, Pukyong National University was ranked jointly at 31st among Korean universities (1001-1200 in the world).

    

Eight universities were jointly ranked at 31st with Pukyong National University, including Kangwon National University, Kookmin University, Seoul National University of Science and Technology, Sookmyung Women's University, Youngsan University, Jeju National University, and Chungbuk National University.

    

The QS ranked universities this year by evaluating them with indicators such as academic reputation, the number of thesis citations, the number of students per professor, the reputation of graduates, the ratio of foreign professors, and the ratio of international students.

    

Among the evaluation indicators, Pukyong National University received the highest score in the number of thesis citations that shows the university's research capabilities as objective data.

    

In this evaluation, 1705 universities were finally evaluated among 6415 universities around the world, and among them, the ranking was ranked up to the top 1300. Among Korea's 195 four-year universities, 39 universities, including Pukyong National University, made it onto the list.

    

The evaluation analyzed that Pukyong National University's efforts to improve global competitiveness were highly effective, such as expanding the research incentive system, increasing the ratio of full-time faculty, and systematically planning to strengthen the capacity for research, education, and internationalization.

    

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States took first place in this year's QS World University Rankings, Seoul National University ranked first in Korea (36th worldwide). <Pukyong Today>
