A student team composed of Kim Hee-Won, Kim Soo-Ah, and Lee Da-Won, who are third-year students at the Department of the Mass Communication of Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) , won the grand prize in the video contest for reducing garbage in 2021.

Pukyong National University students were honored with the Grand Prize of the Minister of Environment for the video 'I ate up' in this recently held contest hosted by the Korea Waste Association (KWASTE) hosted by the Ministry of Environment. The prize money was three million won.

This contest was held to spread a culture of participating in food waste reduction and to form a social consensus on separating trash. In this contest, Pukyong National University students received the best evaluation for their sensible video that emphasized the slogan 'I ate up' instead of 'I enjoyed this meal' after emptying the rice bowls.

Pukyong National University students repeatedly presented a proofing video that the characters ate up their food without leaving any food in the school cafeteria in this video, and as a result, the video was recognized as content with a high possibility of sharing and spreading on SNS.

At the same time, Kim Yeo-Jin, a fourth-year student in the same department, received the runner-up of 500,000 won prize money for the video 'Reduce food, through garbage instead of names'.

There is no separate awards ceremony for this contest, and the awards and prize money will be delivered individually to the winners. <Pukyong Today>
