PKNU trains non-IT majors to become AI programming service developers

Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) is attracting public attention by providing a curriculum that fosters not only IT-related majors such as artificial intelligence (AI), but also non-IT majors as service developers of AI programming.

Pukyong National University, in partnership with Multi Campus, a leading company in the field of IT job linking training in Korea, opened the 'Job Linking Training Course for SW Convergence Engineering’ and held an orientation at Somin Hall in the Mirae building on the afternoon of October 12.

Opened as a non-curricular course at Pukyong National University, this course, which will be held for 5 months from today, is an educational program that nurtures experts in programming and big data fields, which are in increasing demand for employment in Korea.

This is the first industry-university link program in Busan, jointly prepared by the university and Multi-Campus Co., Ltd, and it is characterized by running courses for both IT majors (Track A) and non-IT majors (Track B).

Supporting technical education, projects, special lectures, and data professional qualifications related to the use of JAVA programming, relational database, big data analysis, algorithm, AI platform, and machine learning/deep learning by track for IT majors and non-IT majors, untact courses are conducted online and in real-time.

In particular, Pukyong National University and Multi-Campus Co., Ltd. provide full educational expenses to program participants, and if students complete all the courses, they will also be given employment support at Korea's leading IT/SW companies.

Pukyong National University completed the recruitment of 50 participants through application review process and interview for those who graduated in August of this year and those expected to graduate in February of next year.

Pukyong National University will expand the target of taking the 'Convergence SW Employment Linked Program' from next year to 3rd and 4th grade students, while the Multi-Campus and Venture Business Association's 'SW Boot Camp Course for Employment Conversion' will also be opened next month, Pukyong National University plan to actively nurture talents related to the 4th industry and convergence software.
