The LED-Marine Convergence Technology R&D Center of Pukyong National University (Center Director Kim Jong-su, Professor of Display Convergence Engineering) has been recognized as an internationally accredited institute by the Korean Accreditation Organization (KOLAS).

The center was re-accredited as an internationally accredited institution in this year's accreditation evaluation by KOLAS. The test reports issued by the center are mutually recognized by more than 100 countries that have joined the International Association for Accreditation of Testing Institutions (ILAC) by 2025.

The center has been providing testing services in the field of LED lighting equipment, industrial equipment, energy efficiency, environment and reliability since the first internationally recognized testing institution was recognized in 2013. In particular, it is the only school institution among KOLAS internationally accredited testing institutes in the field of shipbuilding, offshore plants, and electrical and electronic fields.

The center has established test systems such as high-efficiency certification and efficiency grade certification, temperature and humidity test, NSS test (salt spray test), IP test, and thermal shock test, the center also provides these testing services targeting 100 companies every year related to lighting as well as electrical and electronics, ships, and offshore plants in the Southeast region.

Based on this re-accreditation, the center plans to provide a wider range of test fields and expand support for companies in the Southeast region through R&D on optical semiconductor and energy safety. <Pukyong Today>
