Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) is drawing public attention by making decision to put educational programs proposed by students in practice, such as the 'Data Science Contest'.
Pukyong National University hosted the 'Awards Ceremony for the 2nd Non-subject Idea Contest’ at the Academy Hall on the 1st floor of 1st floor of the Dongwon Jang Bogo Hall on the morning of October 28 and awarded prizes for 6 educational programs selected as excellent ideas.
The contest was held to offer opportunities for students to design and propose programs in non-subject such as learning capacity building, career · psychological counseling, job seeking · start-ups, and volunteer work, rather than in subject areas such as lectures.
Pukyong National University plans to open the winning programs of this contest as educational programs to actively support developing the capabilities that students consider necessary, and to increase student participation in the non-subject programs as well as the subject programs.
In this contest, the 'Pukyong Data Science Contest', a contest idea that collects and processes data and discovers campus problem-solving policies, won the best prize. In addition, a total of six ideas received awards, including the 'Expert Linking Journalists' group, which directly interviewed experts to explore their career paths, and received the 2nd prize.
Pukyong National University has forwarded these program ideas to the non-subject operation division on campus and is preparing the program opening plan to put them in effect.
Pukyong National University opened programs such as 'One -man One-Publishing Support Program' and 'Special Lecture on Happy Fitness & Wise Corona Life' through the 1st Non-Subject Idea Contest held last year and received favorable reviews from students.
Kim Young-Mok, Director of the Student Affairs office said, "I expect that this contest will provide opportunities for students to directly participate in the opening of educational programs, maximize communication between the university and students, and provide students with an opportunity to develop not only their major knowledge but also their creativity and planning ability. <Pukyong Today>
