Pukyong National University students released a statement calling for a Russia-Ukraine peace treaty

Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) students urged for a peaceful resolution between Russia and Ukraine.

    

Pukyong National University Student Council (President Lee Ho-Jin, 4th grader in Mechanical Engineering) and UN Supporters (President Hwang Min-Hye, 3rd grade in Mechanical Engineering) issued a statement calling for an anti-war and peaceful solution in the morning of March 2.

    

Pukyong National University students organized this event to oppose war and urge a peaceful resolution of the recent Russian invasion of Ukraine.

    

Pukyong National University's UN Supporters is a student peace volunteer group that has been actively providing services since 2009 to return gratitude to the Korean War veterans. He visits the UN Memorial Park, the only UN cemetery in the world near the university, and carries out volunteer activities, and during vacations he personally finds and revives surviving veterans at home and abroad. It celebrated its 14th anniversary this year.

    

On this day, Lee Ho-Jin, president of the Student Council, and Hwang Min-Hye, president of the UN Supporters, urged in a statement, "Russia should not violate the hope and peace of future generations. Stop violence and war against the people of Ukraine immediately."

    

"We express our deep concern for the suffering of the Ukrainian people, and express our deep sympathy for the resistance and anger of the Ukrainian people towards Russia and our strong solidarity," they urged Russia to stop the war, to respect the basic human rights of the Ukrainian people and protect citizens from war, Russia must immediately stop the war and guarantee the lives and human rights of students and the right to learn more precious than their lives to give back schools to students who participated in the war that risked their lives.

  

They continued, "We pledge to stand in solidarity with All educators and students who are working hard to protect the educational field against bullets, and the passionate democratic citizens who are waiting for peace in Ukraine." <Pukyong Today>
