Pukyong National University has been selected for the 'Advanced Mechanical Engineering Based Convergence Technology X-Corp' of the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) and National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) on the 8th of last month.
This project supports science and engineering college students to develop research capabilities to solve industrial problems by forming and operating a research team.
Among 9 project groups across the country, 3 consortiums were selected, and Pukyong National University has been selected for this project as a consortium of 'Dongseo Convergence Technology X-Corps' organized by 4 national universities including Gunsan and Mokpo National University under the supervision of Pusan National University.
As a result of being selected for this project, a consortium of four national universities will receive an annual project cost of 2 billion Korean won until 2025, and designate topics such as △various smart parts materials, smart cities, △smart marine ecology, and △smart energy to solve local problems, and the consortium selects among the difficulties faced by local companies or voluntarily proposed free topics to carry out research projects.
Accordingly, the Advanced Mechanical Engineering Based Convergence Technology X-Corps (Director Ahn Yong-Sik) of Pukyong National University plans to conduct a wide range of various research projects by organizing about 30 research teams every year in which undergraduate and graduate students and companies participate.
Since 2019, Pukyong National University has been selected for the ‘Advanced Mechanical Engineering Based Convergence Technology X-Corps’, the predecessor of this project, and for three years, 92 teams and 229 people participated, and Pukyong National University achieved excellent results in the research project with the theme of solving problems occurring in the field of machinery, parts, materials, AI, block chain, eco-friendly energy, and industrial fields. <Pukyong Today>
