PKNU supports for an integration of 180 non-curricular programs

- Construction of ‘whalebe’, an integrated platform for non-curricular programs such as volunteering, counseling, and external activities

Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) announced that it will build and operate the website, 'whalebe', an integrated support platform for non-curricular programs, so that students can easily obtain information on various non-curricular programs and participate in the programs.

Non-curricular programs refer to programs such as study, job search, start-up support, counseling, volunteer work, and activities that do not receive credits, such as the course for acquiring qualifications, as distinct from the university's major or liberal arts programs.

Pukyong National University constructed this platform to not only relieve the burden of students who spend a lot of time and effort to gain so-called ‘spec’ in these non-curricular programs in addition to obtaining credits, but also to support systematic and active non-curricular activities.

Currently, Pukyong National University operates about 180 non-curricular programs. With this platform, students can check the status of all non-curricular programs operated by Pukyong National University briefly. You can apply by checking the recruitment information for each program before the deadline, and you can also check the details of completion or print a certificate of completion.

Pukyong National University shares the testimonials and know-how of other students who have already taken the same program to students who have not taken it so that they can choose the program that is right for them, in addition, the platform is equipped with a function that allows students to compare two programs of interest by grouping them.

The name of this platform, whalebe, is derived from the letters of 'whale' and be from 'become', a symbol of the Pukyong National University and a symbol of dreams, and it symbolizes 'an integrated platform for non-curricular programs that makes your dreams come true'.

"While expanding the non-curricular program to nurture a whole-person and talents with interdisciplinary abilities, to increase the convenience of students and provide intuitive and multifaceted information to students, we built a platform this time," said Kim Young-Mok, director of the student affairs office. <Pukyong Today>
