Pukyong National University held the 76th anniversary ceremony

On the morning of May 12, Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-Soo) held a ceremony to commemorate the 76th anniversary of its opening in the university theater, attended by guests, faculty, and students, including former presidents, Jang Seon-Deok, Kang Nam-Ju, Park Maeng-Un, chairman Lee Seung-Cheol from the Pukyong National University alumni association, director Kang Eui-Gu from the consular corps and president Jin Gil-Ho from the AMP Alumni Association.

 

On this day, President Jang Young-Soo said emphatically "Pukyong National University has recently been reborn as a comprehensive university based on our strong academic curriculum such as world-class marine fisheries and engineering, we established a new college and majorly reorganized the academic organization to lead the future advanced sciences such as AI, robots, metaverse, big data, and biotechnology."

 

He added, "Let's all become proud owners of this university and take a leap forward for another new beginning. Let's do our best and, together with all other universities, join forces with our region, country, and world to become a global prestigious university."

 

On this day, three professors including Ahn Sang-Wook (division of international and area studies), Kim Young-Mok (food science and technology), and Oh Jeong-Hwan (biomedical engineering) received the 26th academic award of Pukyong National University for their contributions to academic development, such as publishing good papers in domestic and foreign academic journals.

 

Next, three professors including Song Yong-Gwan (marine sports), Cho Seung-Mok (food science and technology), and Lee Chang-Hwan (dept. of architectural engineering) received the young researcher award for their creative and passionate research activities.

 

Six professors including Lee Jeong-Hee (dept. of Chinese studies), Wang Je-Pil (metallurgical engineering), Woo Sang-Wook (dept. of physics), Kang Hyeon-Wook (biomedical Engineering), Jeon Jung-Ok (business administration) and Kwak Min-Seok (dept. of chemistry) received the 14th industry-university cooperation award of Pukyong National University.

 

In addition, 23 faculty members including professor Cho Chan-Hyouk (division of international commerce) received the university development contribution award, and 6 faculty members including professor Noh Maeng-Seok (major of big data) received award from the alumni president.

 

For long-term service achievements, 25 faculty members including professor Choi Tae-Yong (Business Administration) received the 30-year long service award, 28 faculty members including professor Park Jong-Woon received the 20-year long service award, and 32 students including Chian Hui Hai (global & interdisciplinary studies) received commendations as for the special student award. <Pukyong Today>
