- The students of prof. Song Ha-Joo of PKNU donated a 5 million won scholarship for students in the name of their professor

Students of professor Song Ha-Joo (software and artificial intelligence) at Pukyong National University, made a heart-warming donation by donating scholarships for school friends in the name of their teacher on Teacher's Day.

 

On May 12, Jeong Myeong-Hwan (age 53, doctoral course completed in computer and information), the chief officer of the company Double O, visited Pukyong National University and delivered a 'Love scholarship in the name of professor Song Ha-Joo of 5 million won to Pukyong National University on May 12th.

 

Mr. Jeong said, "Fifteen students from professor Song Ha-Joo's laboratory got together to form a group called 'Love song' and have maintained it, for the 10th anniversary of our gathering this year, we decided to donate together because we wanted to express our gratitude to the professor and support his students as well."

He said, "Professor Song, who has always taught student-centered education, has been able to focus on the studies and research he wants to pursue because the government allows students to use them autonomously when the government grants them funding for research projects. After graduating with his affection, the students employed or succeeded in starting a business in a domestic IT company, and are still visiting the professor 10 years later."

Professor Song is leading as the first dean at the college of information technology and convergence, a college established this year to nurture talents who will lead the 4th industrial era and research and develop related core technologies and convergence ecosystems.

 

Mr. Jeong said, "We would like to support the professor who will play an important role in the development of our alma mater this year, and if this donation can be of a small contribution for the lab students to their study and research. Our group plans to continue donating to support students and schools."

 

Pukyong National University plans to use this donation as a scholarship for software and artificial intelligence students at professor Song Ha-Joo's laboratory. <Pukyong Today>
